Our demo zone is where visitors can view great innovations in events as well as participate in activities.
Visitors can watch or take part in the demonstrations throughout the day, each lasting between ten and twenty minutes. What better way to break up your day than to sit back, relax and be entertained?
09.30 hrs: Test your cookie icing skills with Baked and Iced
Are you a dab hand at icing, or have you always wanted to test your natural ability to ice cakes and biscuits but not known where to start? During this demo, our icing expert, Charlie Sellers from Baked and Iced will show you the tricks of the trade. Will you be brave enough to try it yourself?
10.20 hrs: Daniel Birk: The Box Tree Restaurant
Dan went on to do the Gordon Ramsay’s Scholarship program in 2008 aged 24 where he achieved 2nd place, followed by his 1st head chef position winning many accolades and awards at the Devonshire fell in Burnsal. He is now head chef working alongside Simon Gueller at the renowned multi award winning Michelin starred restaurant The Box Tree Ilkley.
11.10 hrs: Kenny Atkinson
Kenny Atkinson manages the 3AA Rosette “Kenny Atkinson at the Orangery” in 5-star Rockcliffe Hall Hotel, County Durham and shot to fame on TV with his award winning mackerel dish on the Great British Menu.
12.00 hrs: Jaswant Mehra
Jaswant Mehra is the Chef de Partie for Radisson Blu in Leeds. He performed in a cookery show on Indian TV, appearing in 300 episodes on the Indian Channel ETV (Entertainment Television)
13.00 hrs: James Martin
Yorkshire born James’ is best known for his weekly BBC1 show, Saturday Kitchen and in 2011 he opened “The Leeds Kitchen in Clarence Dock”, his first restaurant in the UK for over 10 years.
